Location
This residential town is located north of Westport between Wilton and Easton. Access to New york City and the shoreline communities nearby make it an appealing place to live.

History
Weston was originally an Indian hunting ground, settled after the 1636 war with the Pequot Indians. As population increased with the Fairfield area, families moved inland to farm in "West Town." By 1850, abundant water power made Weston a thriving community. The town then boasted a renowned military academy, four churches, five parish shools. five doctors and one attorney. Today Weston has four carefull preserved historic districts: Norfield, Kettle Creek, Bradley Edge Tool and Central.

Population
Approximately 9000. Because of Weston's favorable location, population has grown by more than 1000% since 1930, when it was at an all time low of 630 people.

Zoning
Residential. Two acre zoning per house makes Weston a town with much open space. Land conservation is very important to this town.

Schools
Weston Elementary school complex grades K-4, one middle school grades 5-8, and one high school grades 9-12. The schools are on a 125 acre park in the center of town. Private and nursery school education is also available in the area.

Recreation
Weston is one of the few towns that still has a "swimming hole". Bisceglie park offers swimming, picnicking and a fitness trail. The Lucius P. Ordway Nature Preserve and the Devil's Den area are availabe for hiking. Keene Park offers hiking and wading areas. More modern facilities include Weston Racquet Club, Weston Field Club and Weston Gun Club. For the beach lover, Westport's 3 town beaches are open to Weston residents for a fee.

Entertainment/Culture
Although rural in feeling, the town of Weston is surrounded by culture. In conjunction with Westport, Weston supports a community theatre and arts council. Two summer theatres, two area symphonies and several movie theaters can by found in nearby towns. For enjoyment, there is one private country club in Weston.
